After Service Classes

All After Service Classes start at 10:00 am (in between services). These classes are a wonderful opportunity to grow in Biblical knowledge, ask questions and get to know people here at Woodway Methodist.

The Agape Sunday School Class consists of a group of women of all ages.  Our textbook is the Bible.
We are active in several mission projects such as Operation Christmas Child, Friends for Life, The Family Abuse Center, and we furnish bags for people in the hospital.  We love and support each other with
prayer and fellowship.  We are “Sisters in Christ”.  The class meets in the church office and is led by Linda Furl.

The Connections Sunday School Class began as a short-term Lenten Study some twenty years ago.  That group was composed of young couples and singles.  The class was taught by Joe and Linda Cox.   Now, we have evolved into a contemporary class, singles and couples, ages 45 and beyond.  The format of the class is  short lessons based on the Word, followed by discussion as to how this message  relates to everyday life. Dave Schlueter is the teacher. Janie Schlueter and Linda Cox assist. Kyle Ballew is the class president. Favorite authors to study include James Moore, Will Willimon, Adam Hamilton, and J. Ellsworth Kalas.  Being connected to God’s Word and to each other is important.  We take time to share blessings and concerns each week.  Please join us in the fellowship hall for a fast-paced, thought-provoking hour on Sunday mornings.

The Eagles Sunday School Class is primarily families with children pre-K through high school (and beyond).  Ages 30’s – 50’s.  Bible study is a blend of topical, scripture supported lessons, or exegetical studies of the books of the bible.  Parental wisdom/advice is a common topic woven into many of our discussions.  The class meets in the Fellowship Hall.

The Friendship Class is a lecture style class of adults who study lessons guided by Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Study publications.  Meets in the Chapel and is led by Mary Hall.

The Pathfinders Sunday School Class is a scripture based lecture led by class members. They are an out-going group of senior adults who meet in the fellowship hall on Sunday mornings.

The Seekers Sunday School Class is a group journeying through the Bible in
a lecture format, in order to apply scripture to daily living.  We meet in the fellowship hall on Sunday mornings.

When the average Christian hears the word “Holy Spirit” or “Holy Ghost,” it may suggest a vague sense of the “mystical.” Just what is a spirit? What is THE Holy Spirit? Or better yet, Who is the Holy Spirit? What does the Holy Spirit actually do?  How do I get the Spirit? And spiritual gifts?—What is that all about?

Watermark Sunday School class is now studying: Understanding the Holy Spirit, which will last until the end of the year.  We will explore key passages of Scripture about the Holy Spirit and his work and apply what we study to our daily lives. As always, our class is a very informal discussion group in which we exchange ideas.

Please join us in the Fellowship Hall at 10 a.m.-10:45 a.m.  If you’ve missed the start, no problem! You’ll be welcome any time. For questions, contact Carol_Gene_Graves@baylor.edu.
